I will be conquering my 10th half marathon on Saturday morning! I registered for the Santa Barbara Half ten days before the race (happy coincidence). I have had lots of running friends tell me about the course and what to expect. My run group buddy, Phil, mentioned that during City to the Sea he had 4 goals not just a time goal. I really like this concept and am going to try it out.
4 5 race goals:
1. Smile at one volunteer every mile
2. Focus on form
3. Stay positive <– during City to the Sea I had one thing affect me and I was negative for the rest of the race
5. There is a veterans mile to honor Veterans Day so ‘Thanking as many Veteran’s as possible’ is my final goal. They are coming out to support us as runners doing something for personal gain, while they have sacrificed so much for the greater good of our country.
I would love to hear any other goals or suggestions to help make this half my best half!!!
